Check the 'Fallout 3 LP' playlist out if you want to see these mods in action as I roleplay through F3. This is also the mod setup I'm using on my Let's Play Fallout 3 on YouTube. The way that Minecraft: Bedrock Edition is built, however, doesn't allow for mod support. The Bedrock Edition is far more flexible and accessible, and supports modern features like cross-play across platforms and Minecraft with ray tracing. On the other hand, the Bedrock Edition is built on top of the universal, custom-built Bedrock and RenderDragon engine, and scales across hardware like Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, PC, mobile devices, and even VR. The Java Edition exists on PC with its own launcher, and is the original version of Minecraft. So, where does this leave Minecraft: Bedrock Edition?įor the unaware, Minecraft currently has two editions. The mod community has been very active in Minecraft: Java Edition for over a decade. If you're interested in getting started with mods in Minecraft: Java Edition, you can check out our comprehensive guides on how to install mods for Minecraft: Java Edition. Mods can do everything from total conversions and overhauls to tiny changes and additions. However, for many members of the Minecraft community, Minecraft is at its best when paired with the hundreds (if not thousands) of community-created mods that exist for Minecraft: Java Edition, the legacy PC version. Minecraft is a ridiculously popular game no matter how you look at it. Mods aren't coming to Minecraft: Bedrock Edition If you have done a lot of changes and obtain a CTD, don't complain you don't know where is the error. Several files are linked between them.Įxemple: If you want to merge a new faction, and don't begin by adding the changes in descr_sm_factions.txt, you will surely obtain a crash cause the game won't find the faction name that you want to introduce.ĭoing the changes one by one, can save you from a headache. If the changes you merged don't work, then try an another file. You need also to test the changes one by one. Additionally, it is the program I will use in this tutorial.įirst, you need to know how what you want to merge, is working.Įxemple: if you want to merge a new faction in your own modifications, then you need to know how to add a new faction, or you will miss parts of the changes that are needed. Nota: there are a lot of programs to do that, I put this one here cause it is a freeware (GNU license) and it can do the work. If you know nothing about modding the game, give up now. This tutorial should only be used by people that have already started to mod. As I had several PMs about that, I have preferred opening a thread about that instead of answering a lot of PMs (nota, use the forum to ask questions) But what about scaling the game itself? Making your game fill the whole display is easy, but making it fill the display and look correct (ie: no blurring or stretching) is not, so in this tech blog we will cover various different methods that you can choose from to scale the game properly.īefore continuing, it is worth noting that there is no "one size fits all" solution to this problem, and a lot will depend on how your game is created and what features it uses. This was a relatively simple thing to do since the GUI layer permits resizing and doesn't require views nor surfaces to work. This blog post is a continuation from The Basics Of Scaling - The GUI Layer where we looked at different methods to scale the GUI layer so that it can be adapted to the different screen sizes and aspect ratios of any given device or display. As far as I can tell, there is no patch for 101Bugs + Requiem, unfortunately. I don't want to uninstall it now due to possible savegame issues, and I would rather not start over yet. I've decided to just ignore this for now, but I wish I had known prior to starting, and I would have uninstalled 101Bugs then. The crafting components added by 101Bugs don't work correctly with Requiem. Plus, RND doesn't recognize seawater in certain types of bottles. I had to install the Real Water Two patch to make it work, and the "Drink from Stream" hotkey still isn't behaving as it should all of the time. Realistic Needs and Diseases has had a couple of minor issues. It's pretty rare, so I'm just going to ignore it. This includes, for example, the carriage drivers. Sometimes, some of the NPCs are naked (well, in their undergarments only). Frostfall and Cloaks of Skyrim worked fine, but for some reason the Winter is Coming patch screwed up the hair on most of the NPCs (I have no idea why). I downloaded the patches for each of the three. I realized that Frostfall, Winter is Coming, and Cloaks of Skyrim were not Complete Crafting Overhaul-compatible. I added ETaC, Inns and Taverns, and Better Fast Travel to my list after installing SSME, and I've been playing through without any major crashes or difficulties so far. |
